Out There Media experiences explosive growth in the last year
Barcelona, 17 February 2010 - Out There Media, a global leader in mobile advertising, today announced that its mobile advertising reach now encompasses over 150 million subscribers. This number is expected to increase by a further 100%, reaching 300 million, by the end of Q2 2010. In addition, Out There Media has continued its international expansion with new offices in Asia and Europe. The company will be announcing new office openings in ultra-high-growth, as well as in established markets throughout the 1st half of 2010.
At Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Out There Media announced its partnership with VimpelCom, a leading mobile operator in Russia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Within the framework of the agreement, Out There Media enables VimpelCom to offer targeted Mobile Advertising to VimpelCom’s subscriber base of 51 million users in Russia; it is worth noting that VimpelCom has a further 13 million subscribers in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia as well as Vietnam and Cambodia.
In general, the past year was one of explosive growth for Out There Media. The company announced several new operator partnership signings, including leading players such as Kyivstar and MTS in Ukraine, and Cosmote, a T-Mobile subsidiary, in Greece. The company designed and executed over 500 mobile advertising campaigns (some of which won international awards) for blue-chip brands within 2009, and its international expansion that features new offices in significant markets such as Singapore, looks set to lead to significant further developments in the company’s portfolio in the very near future.
In the course of the past six months Out There Media was further strengthened by the arrival of several experienced executives with proven international career track records. These include Alpha B. Barry, Chief Financial Officer, who joined Out There Media from McKinsey and Company in Berlin, where he held the position of Associate Principal; George Kontos, Sales Director in Greece, one of the most seasoned digital advertising professionals in the Greek market; Fabrizio Caruso, Vice-President of Business Development Asia-Pacific, a digital media and mobile expert with previous executive roles at Buongiorno Hong Kong, Amdocs, and T-Mobile International; and Matt Briant, Account Director-Asia, who joined Out There Media from mobile virtual network operator Blyk, where he held the position of Head of Careers and Education Advertising.
